The MIM process mainly includes 8 important aspects of product design, mold design, quality inspection, mixing, molding, degreasing, sintering, secondary processing, etc., which determines whether surface treatment is required for product characteristics.

MIM process flow chart

The following is the analysis of the production process of parts from the four unique processing steps of MIM (mixing, forming, degreasing and sintering).

One, mixed

Fine metal powder and thermoplastic, paraffin binder are mixed in precise proportions.

Second, molding

The granular raw material is fed into the machine for heating and injected into the mold cavity under high pressure to form a blank.

Three, skim

Degreasing is the process of removing the center of the molded part. This process is usually completed in several steps. After solvent extraction of some joints, the remaining bond is removed by thermal debonding. When debonding, control the carbon content in the batch and reduce the oxygen content.

Fourth, sintering

The high density of MIM parts is achieved by high sintering temperature and long sintering time, thus greatly improving and improving the mechanical properties of the parts materials.
